I don't like plots. I don't know what a plot means. I can't stand the idea of anything that starts in the beginning - you know, 'beginning, middle and end.'

Grief doesn't have a plot. It isn't smooth. There is no beginning and middle and end.

Composing means you have a beginning, middle and end and a fluidity to what you're doing.

The middle gave the rest its meaning.
Like life, maybe. People were born and then they died. Everyone remembers those events. But without the life in between...
