I don't think anyone expects any fireworks from the Fed tomorrow but it's normal to have a pause before a Fed meeting.

When you stop and think about it, if the Fed were to pause, what does it actually do for anybody ... in the afflicted Gulf region? At this point they're more concerned with basic food and shelter and not really comparison-shopping for mortgages.

If the Fed doesn't at least hint that a pause could be on the way, I think that would surprise the market.

There's a point at which the Fed has to indicate that it has to pause and look around for a while, and that could come in these minutes, or the next ones.

He's been very clear. The Fed may take a pause for a month or two, but that doesn't mean it's the end of the rate hikes.

The Fed is going to finish at about 5 percent, or certainly pause at 5 percent.
