I left acting in the summer of 1988 because I was unhappy with a lot of the irresponsibility that was going on in the entertainment industry.

I reached a point where - I have a real heart and concern for families and for youth, and the more I became involved in working through a ministry, the more I realized how powerful the entertainment industry was and how irresponsible it was.

To be employed in the entertainment industry is a miracle.

The entertainment industry is terrified of silence.

It is frustrating to be a Black woman in the entertainment industry.

When you are in entertainment business, you can’t be you until you are in off-screen. You have to smile all the time and act like what they want from you. And you have to give them what they want from you. When entertaining people, you are their property. But you have to influence others when you are entertaining your fans.
