I think Florida is going to rethink the rule. This is a case I would definitely appeal.

I don't have any steadfast rule. I think it's more of a generality. I think in Mike's case, he's a guy who expressed a desire to have a multiyear deal. Based upon his past performance, we were open-minded to it.

Unions drag down business, growth is slower, and right-to-work laws weaken the unions. So when the unions are weaker, you tend to have more economic growth.

Businesses would rather go to a state where the employees have the right to join a union or not to join a union. In that sense, then, it's sort of a zero-sum game - where they are competing with and attracting business from other states.

I think the need for compensation in Alan's case is obvious, but there's also a need for rehabilitation. I definitely think there should be some compensation or assistance. On the other hand, I don't want other prosecutors to see this and be afraid that admitting a mistake is going to be costly.

I've always felt that he had a very strong case on appeal, ... if there's any case that's likely to be reversed, this is it.
