I think there's always a concern you have with very successful people moving on. But at the same time, one of the things I hear from Jim all the time is about his vision and how much he likes it here. That's why I always thought we would get something done.

Seeing Jim and Jack together is more like watching two brothers than father and son. From a family standpoint, it's something that a lot of people can only dream of and something that they'll both cherish. It has worked to the benefit of the University of San Diego and its student-athletes. USD is about a holistic approach to education, and family is a part of that. It's in your face.

We are excited to have Jim back as our head coach. He has done a tremendous job for us in his two years. Our vision remains to win conference championships on a regular basis, and Jim shares that vision and drive to win those titles.

Our goal here is to win conference championships on a regular basis without sacrificing academic integrity, and we're certainly in position to start doing that with the football program.

The [minority] concern has been apparent to people addressing HIV issues for a long time. In this plan, our intent is to take a more tangible approach.

I think the length of time we were without the basic utilities was the most concern to me.
