I think these women are up and coming. They have arrived and are still arriving, and they've put themselves in a position to give back to the community.

We were discussing Coretta Scott King [who died in January] and how we as individuals should be picking up the torch, and also how we should recognize people's contributions while they're here. These are people who are continuing to serve the community and keeping the dream alive.

It is not an honoring event. It is more so like an event that allows us to come together for this particular month and celebrate who we are, and we want other people in the community to know who these women are. They should be recognized as pillars in this community.

I like being small - I've known so many women with big boobs who feel overweight or end up with back problems.

Women now, we can juggle a lot of things. We're not just girlfriends or love interests. So that's really great to not just make her the chick and give her something to do.

Italian men do appreciate beautiful women. They're not afraid of the beauty, which is nice.
