If we do not abolish war on this earth, then surely one day war will abolish us from the earth

Sixteen hours ago an American airplane dropped one bomb on Hiroshima.... The force from which the sun draws its power has been loosed against those who brought war to the Far East.

The absence of war is not peace.

Experience has shown how deeply the seeds of war are planted by economic rivalry and social injustice.

But we are only termites on a planet and maybe when we bore too deeply into the planet there'll be a reckoning. Who knows?

This is the day we have been waiting for since Pearl Harbor. This is the day when Fascism finally dies, as we always knew it would.
