I'm very happy for the fans. I wanted to do it at home. During the ovation, I wanted to run out to right field, forgetting that I was the DH.

It means a lot to do it at home. I really wanted to do it here for the fans. I never had a doubt that eventually it was going to come. Now I don't have to think about it anymore. I think it looked like I was even more anxious because I always swing at bad pitches, anyway. So it looked even worse because I was swinging at even worse pitches.

I am very, very happy for the fans, ... I really wanted to do it here for them because they have been very supportive. Out in right field, people kept telling me that I would do it. I am happy there is still some baseball left to play.

We're really close, ... My mom's very important to me. It's nice to go home after games and forget about it - enjoy the game and then enjoy the family atmosphere.

I swung after they took me out (Thursday), ... I just wanted to make sure I could tell (manager) Mike (Scioscia) I was OK. I didn't want to wait until (Friday).
