In the first half, they were posting in the middle on us, and we made an adjustment, but in the second half, we didn't block out. We shut them down and they got second-chance baskets with nobody on them. They really hurt us on the offensive glass.

We began to beat the drums and the Coalition involved all the county commissioners.

The whole mood just wasn't good. Not making any excuses, though. East Lincoln went at us, and they've been playing well here lately. We were lucky to come away with the win.

Alex was sticking out at us. To use one of Jerry's terms, he was like a beacon light. I came in [Sunday] morning, and [area scout] Phil Emery was high on Alex. I said, 'Jerry, we've got to take this guy.' I literally had a dream about drafting him.

At halftime I kind of created a different zone offense for us to work on, and (West Iredell) came out in man. I think that relieved a little pressure from us. We were able to get the ball inside and attack their man and then kick off that.

If it's a real talented guy and we like the guy and we think he is going to help us win, is going to upgrade team speed, then you consider it, you talk about it.
