It isn't fun to lose when you haven't lost in 11 years. This shows the high quality of competition in our conference.

Not to make excuses, but the kids were a little overwhelmed at the beginning. A lot of them, when they got done with beam, didn't even remember doing it. But they got their focus back again. We had nice floors, our vaults really good and our bars was real consistent. We were proud to be here, to begin with.

The level down here is unbelievable. They take some great lessons from what they experienced.

I'm very happy for them and was sad for us when they dismounted their last event. Those kids can't be replaced. We'll miss them.

I was so proud of them. No matter what the outcome was, they were winners before they walked in the gym.

They're competitors. They're taught to never give up. You have a bad event, there are two things you can do -- either keep going that way or fight back. They chose to come back fighting. I knew they had it in them. We've just got to get them to do it in all four events.
