It was a good day for our entire program. Our girls ran really well collectively. They have battled and stepped up every time there was a challenge this year. I'm ecstatic for them.

I could see both the boys and girls races being very close. It isn't just Penn and then everybody else, like before. There are a lot of teams in the mix.

These guys have done an awesome job. They've rallied together, and coming out here to win the city championship is just attributed to all the runners. It's not the best we can run; we'll have to do better at sectionals, but we'll be ready.

We went out fast, to kind of see what happened.

That was the week of spring break, and we hadn't practiced in a week. The girls are more focused right now than they were that day.

We had a heck of a day. We did an outstanding job tonight. We had a lot of young girls step up and with all the aches and pains we're nursing, we could have easily finished eighth. I'm very proud of how the girls went for it tonight. We did things we haven't all year and we had nothing to lose.
