It's a small congregation for a big building like this, ... We didn't buy this property just to come and worship. It is to bring people in for ministry. This is a marvelous site to do so.

But the congregation complained about the breakfast aroma being a distraction to the worship service.

You must learn how to extract things of value out of things that seems totally worthless.

They paid a big price. It has a sniff of a panic buy. New Zealand is a small market and I can't see what they can do to grow the business.

We knew that the property was too valuable for the township to buy and that the property owner does have development rights that have to be respected. So the question became what we can do at that property that is the least objectionable.

There's probably going to be about $100 million spent to buy the property ... for all the roads and everything that goes into that. Guess who has to pay for that? It's going to be us, the taxpayers. We're going to pay that money.
