It's almost like a holiday party. You could end up grazing all day and not really be aware of how much you're eating.

You never know what to expect, especially on the first game back from the holiday. Everybody else hasn't had to practice either. There is nothing you can do about it except hope that your team shows up ready to play.

Everyone has barbecue at tailgates in the South, and it can be really high in fat. Everyone wants to have fun and food that they're used to. But you can still have pork tenderloin and grill it up and have different barbecue sauces.

When we're sitting in front of the TV, we mindlessly put food into our mouths just because it's there.

The pitfalls are unconsciously standing by the table. Take the opportunity to socialize. Fill up a plate and walk away.

A holiday is one day. It's not something to throw the towel in for.
