It's got a good representation of what contemporary Hawaiian music really is.

There's a transcendent quality to Hawaiian music. There's something very grounded in it, very roots-oriented. It grabbed me so much that it changed me.

If there is one word to describe (the chanting) it's powerful and moving. You can have a roomful of noisy people, and if someone started chanting, you would button up very fast. You know something is happening.

Believe me, this won't be over anyone's head. It's really pretty much like you are at a very loose party - just fun, and relaxing. Yet the music has a lot of intensity to it, too. It's a lot of up-tempo music. We are not going to put anyone to sleep.

The piano is a reasonably quiet instrument, and I suppose it's quite strange to have it with such loud music.

It was terrific. It was spiritual, it was the music, it was everything else that went with it. It was just a phenomenal moment.
