It's hard to describe his outing. He was pitching OK in spots,

You never really know what to expect. He did OK. He was overthrowing, but that's [something] to be expected. But he hung tough and kept us in there. He'll be a good one -- get that one out of the way and feel like he belongs.

You win together you lose together ... That offence has carried this pitching many times this year.

I expect his command to be a little bit better. I talked to a couple pitching coaches that I ran into last week and they said, 'Hey, you'll find out that when he's on, you sit back in the dugout and it's fun to watch him.' We hope he has one of those [on Friday].

Mechanically, he looked OK out there on the mound. All in all it was a good outing.
