It's rewarding to be here. The little kids just love it. The weather is cooperating and everybody is coming out to grab some eggs. It's just a few minutes but it's a lot of fun for them.

The all-weather fields are a savior. The kids kind of like playing in the mud, but we love all the new fields. It's better for the speed of the game. It's obviously much safer. You're not going to lose by a bad bounce. And we get all the games in.

You can't really have favorites, they're like kids. I love them all.

I was very pleased with how hard the kids worked, especially in that hot weather. After a 2-1/2 hour bus trip and to walk away with a win against a good football team, that is incredible. It was great team effort and I am proud as heck of the kids.

I think we had to weather the storm for the first 10 minutes or so before we warmed up. We were a little quiet and lacked the intensity defensively. But after that we were in it. I thought we played very well in the first half.

It's a lot of pitches to throw in 92 degree weather.
