Like many other men of considerable means, Mr. Pierrepont performed acts of kindness and generosity without saying anything about them. He was a shy and gentle man of strong character.

It always seemed strange to me that the things we admire in men, kindness and generosity, openness, honesty, understanding and feeling are the concomitants of failure in our system. And those traits we detest, sharpness, greed, aquisitiveness, meanness, egotism and selfinterest are the traits of sucess. And while men admire the quality of the first, they love the produce of the second.

As we enter into our third year supporting the Make-A-Wish Foundation, I am confident the kindness and generosity of our children, parents and staff will continue to grow. At the rate we're going, I see no reason why we can't make our goal of raising $10 million by 2010.

I am so proud of Michigan's citizens for the kindness and generosity they have shown in assisting in this endeavor, ... It is truly heartwarming to see the compassion shown for those in need.

If you can live with less of what you have.
You can be more of who you are.
