My first name, with the rare two-r spelling, came from a sportswriter named Garry Schumacher. My parents didn't know him personally, but my mother liked the spelling.

Our mother did not want them to take Ritchie's name and whitewash it and they didn't. She liked it.

My dad named me Dakota and my mom came up with my first name Hannah. So it's Hannah Dakota Fanning.
