My good friend Earle Bruce went in there and turned that program around and Sonny picked up and has been going gangbusters ever since,

The biggest thing that he brings to our program is toughness. He makes everybody tougher. He's as tough as they come.

Bruce has been a good friend, a good companion and we've been a good team. He's also got a great sense of humor.

He?s an awfully good quarterback that happens to also be an outstanding athlete.

I guarantee you the Rose Bowl hopes it gets as good a game out of Texas and USC.

It's hard to say good-bye to seniors who have picked your program up and put it on their shoulders and do it with the integrity and character that they did. Losing is losing, but I'd much rather keep these guys around.
