My wife and children seem to like me quite a bit, and as long as that is true, I'm really OK.

I think it is really terrifying that we are narrowing down to a mechanistic assessment of children by how many pass exams... if standards meant improving right across the board, character, originality, interests, then I wouldn't mind so much. But it doesn't. It always boils down to the same thing, how will we pass exams.

I think you really need to be communicating with your children, and you have to become technically savvy. I don't think it's an excuse these days to say I don't know how this computer works.

I sometimes wake in the early morning & listen to the soft breathing of my child & I think to myself, this is one thing I will never regret & I carry that quiet with me all day long.

This is above and beyond, to know that my children cannot eat, cannot have water to drink, have no place to sleep except to lay on concrete,
