Nine out of 10 women don't go into surgery to change their breasts because of bad back pain. They do it to get a better job, a new man, a better life. There are often psychological problems at the basis [of surgery] and my fear is that women aren't being challenged enough about them.

To be able to laugh at one's own shortcomings is positive if it helps to put things into perspective. It reminds us that everyone has the same issues, and helps women feel better about themselves. If it's laughing at the fact that everyone's cellulite looks worse in the mirrors in the changing rooms, that's good, because everyone's had that; you don't feel alone.

Plastic surgery has become de-medicalised. It involves risk, it involves potentially lethal anaesthetics, yet it now seems as commonplace as having a pedicure.

I couldn't bring Eric down. I was in survival mode... . Everybody was in such pain.

I just say skip the middle person. I'm the one that's going to make the change.

There isn't that many places where women can go to be supported and have an advisory group or peer group for that matter.
