No award system was in place for women to receive actual letters through The Ohio State University athletic department. Now, some 30 years later, we will be a part of a retroactive varsity award ceremony.

Eastern Kentucky was a suitcase college. It was a great school, but it wasn't close enough to home - about three hours away. We traveled a lot with the volleyball team, and that was nice. But in the fall and spring, the college was deserted on weekends. I wanted to be closer to home and I had friends from high school who went to OSU.

Our staff is excited about the men Stony Brook University has signed to the National Letters of Intent. These men will make us a better program on the field, in the classroom and in the community.

A student can win twelve letters at a university without learning how to write one

Back in the 70s and 80s, women felt the discrimination of being overweight. And now 35% of the letters I receive are from men.
