She e-mailed me and said it was long overdue. She sent me the name of another contact and we got the ball rolling.

Eastern Kentucky was a suitcase college. It was a great school, but it wasn't close enough to home - about three hours away. We traveled a lot with the volleyball team, and that was nice. But in the fall and spring, the college was deserted on weekends. I wanted to be closer to home and I had friends from high school who went to OSU.

No award system was in place for women to receive actual letters through The Ohio State University athletic department. Now, some 30 years later, we will be a part of a retroactive varsity award ceremony.

We're a little overdue,

We have a special program called Mission Meltdown. Individuals weigh in every week and receive daily personal contact via e-mail or the telephone with a personal trainer. There is also a session with a personal trainer in the beginning to help them get started. This program was used at other YMCA's across the nation and it has been very successful.

This is something that was actually overdue. That was something we should have had years ago.
