Nobody's kissing my ass, unfortunately. I could use a little. But then again, my personality isn't conducive to butt-kissing.

A person with no back bone, education, or sense of direction in their life will often conclude that ass kissing is a wise career choice whereas that is the path where they eventually get what's coming to them, a shitty end.
