Our society really encourages exercise. People think, 'Oh, what can I do to release; I'll work out,' but I don't think it's the solution unless it feels good to the individual.

I tell people to do something for themselves at lunch. It doesn't matter whether it's having a manicure, taking a spinning class or going for a walk.

I got attracted to coaching because I love helping people figure out who they are as a person. Many people are working in a field that is totally out of line for who they are as a person.

This is not just an intellectual exercise. The people who live and work here have an emotional commitment to Santa Monica, and can deliver a good service if they truly believe in it.

Independent and impartial exercise of judicial authority is an essential aspect of a free society. Instead of safeguarding judges from political pressures, most election systems invite such influence.

It will work itself out, but patience is something that people need to exercise at this point.
