People don't realize you have to work two to three jobs here to survive.

Unfortunately, I don't have a positive outlook on the Outer Banks because it is such a struggle. It's beautiful here, and I'm fortunate to live near my family. But I work seven days a week.

At other jobs, you don't get to work with the people like this. You work with the people, and then it's like they are your own grandparents.

A lot of people who get laid off from corporate jobs end up doing some freelance work, ... But people who are coming from a job with a paycheck are not knowledgeable about the expenses they can file on Schedule C. They should familiarize themselves with those deductions. If they have considerable self-employment income, they can set up a Keogh or SEP IRA to shelter some of the income from taxes.

Washington's employers continued to add new jobs at a healthy rate in August, though not at the same extraordinary pace as in June and July, ... The exceptional job gains we've experienced over the summer have encouraged many more Washington residents to look for work. At the end of the day, demand for labor remains firm and the outlook for continued job growth is quite positive.

We score early and do the job. We've still left a lot of people on base. We've tried to work on that.
