Rock radio listeners do want that rock radio attitude. They want subject matter consistent with their listening taste. A lot of other stations have some personality; we're mostly personality, then during the evenings and weekends our listeners will rock out.

I've made rock records, classical records, jazz records, dub records. It always surprises me that people's own listening taste ranges from pop to hip-hop to jazz to rock, but if you're a musician who's been successful in one style, people won't let you have broader musical interests. It's ridiculous, really.

It's water-cooler talk. Some people would call it reality talk. It's real people on real subjects. I think it will fill a void in the marketplace.

The work for the show is all very new.
