Students are really not aware of the consequences of blood alcohol concentration and what impacts it, what affects it. We really work on being really concrete about it.

Those are the laws in the state of Pennsylvania. We may need to refer students to the drug and alcohol program. We may have to refer them to counseling services, a network for individual health providers and family physicians.

A lot of students said they were holding (alcohol) just for a picture. A lot of them just flat out lied.

Our research found that students who owned an alcohol-branded item were significantly more likely to have initiated alcohol use than students who did not own one. We recommend that parents discourage their children from wearing these products and that schools limit the display of alcohol-branded items among students.

I think it's math. Thirty-six college students die every year of alcohol poisoning. There are 5,000 colleges. It hasn't gotten to us yet. I certainly don't think we're immune. And we may even be more susceptible than other schools.

We want to keep with the whole idea of this being a drug- and alcohol-free event.
