The bulk of our (innings) came from the two kids that moved away. Between the two of them, they were a big part of the roster.

We have a lot of young kids that are going to pitch for us. We are preaching throw strikes and keeping the ball in play. We are trying to grow them into varsity pitchers fairly quickly.

Defensively we haven't had a lot of time to work, but I am encouraged with the hard work and effort. When we work on defensive skills, they have worked hard. We have better team chemistry; they all get along. Last year it was an individual thing.

We will be competitive this season. We want to win some games; it will depend on how quickly the young guys adjust and become comfortable.

If their freshmen test score is in the top 10, we give those 10 kids $1,000.

The kids have abilities they didn't have before.
