We're making a concerted effort to show Ottawa's diversity to leisure travelers, meeting planners, tour operators and the travel media in our largest market, Toronto. By partnering with an existing event that draws 100,000 people over the course of five days, we can maximize our visibility.

For something where it?s a leisure draw, where there's no organization working collectively, like one of our races, then it's the free market. The hotels will set those rates based on what the market will permit, and that is pure supply and demand.

This is an important historical site which is now a leisure facility and I feel certain that there is some way to save it.
