The mark of a good musical is songs that leave the audience humming as they leave the theater, and this certainly has that.

What he doesn't count on is how attached he is going to be to her (Doolittle). That's what appeals to the audience — seeing this guy who is a pompous ass really humiliate himself.

When he (Shaw) wrote 'Pygmalion,' he was really making a statement about social classes.

In student theater, you see a lot of political plays. But this piece sees things from both sides. On one hand, it gives this perspective of harsh, fascist law and how terrible that is, but it also shows the other side and their perspective. I respect that in a play.
