The Polar Express is about faith, and the power of imagination to sustain faith. It's also about the desire to reside in a world where magic can happen, the kind of world we all believed in as children, but one that disappears as we grow older.

We are thrilled that moviegoers are returning to IMAX theatres to experience 'The Polar Express' again this holiday season. The re-release IMAX® 3D version complements the marketing of the DVD release while offering families a unique holiday experience that they can't get anywhere else. We look forward to the film's continued stellar performance in IMAX theatres throughout this holiday season and those to come.

The Polar Express was the easiest of my picture book manuscripts to write... Once I realized the train was going to the North Pole, finding the story seemed less like a creative effort than an act of recollection. I felt, like the story's narrator, that I was remembering something, not making it up.

'The Polar Express' showed that the 3D IMAX combination could attract an audience that might not have been otherwise interested in the movie.
