The Supreme Court has not directly faced the issue of whether 'under God' in the Pledge of Allegiance violates the First Amendment.

The government is going to lose a very good ruling to avoid having this go before the Supreme Court.

While the court did not address the merits of the case, it is clear that the Pledge of Allegiance and the words 'under God' can continue to be recited by students across America.

It is inconsistent with what the Supreme Court did.

I would not be surprised if the Supreme Court does decide to weigh in again on this issue. We're early in the process of figuring out what the Supreme Court's ruling really means.
