There must not be favoured treatment for those occupying a position of public responsibility.

Public office must not be a means to profit or become rich.

Today, more than ever, citizens demand with good reason that moral and ethical principles be upheld and that exemplariness preside over our public life. And the king, as the head of state, must not only be an example but also a servant to that just and legitimate demand of the citizens.

The crown must constantly earn citizens' appreciation, respect and trust.

You will find in me a loyal head of state who is ready listen and understand, warn and advise as well as to defend the public interest at all times.

Our primary objective must be to prevent wars, and when we fail in this, we must protect and assist the innocent victims.
