There was no question that this new stadium would be an environmental leader, an example of innovative recycling and other green techniques.

One area that the IOC might wish review is the issue of recycling of sporting infrastructure. Take bobsleigh for example. TOROC did a great job to try and mitigate its environmental impact. You can argue we can get rid of recycling and save the city a million dollars, but why don't we try to get rid of the garbage and save the city even more money?
