We are letting the kids know they have choices.

Part of it is being a parent. I see so many kids that make some choices that maybe aren't very healthy. I would like her to get some leadership responsibilities.

The biggest change is the kids are empowered to be a part of the process. They are making choices about families, mentors and the events that they participate in. Our children are viewed as team members and they utilize that power.

They have choices. The international kids don't care where Nicholls is; they are here to get an education.

We're offering them information so they can make informed choices. If you have information, you can make a choice to take a different route.

It was a great meet, but we had some situations where we had some kids injured that we didn't know about until that day. But we had kids step up. A lot of times, you look at that as an excuse, but we picked it up. I think we matured as a team.
