We can't wait for Washington. Business leaders are going to have to galvanize their own constituencies and do everything they can to demonstrate confidence in the economy, and I think that can be contagious.

Business leaders cannot be bystanders.

By highlighting the strengths and weaknesses of an economy, policy-makers and business leaders are provided with a tool to assist them in the formulation of improved economic policies and institutional reforms,

I think that business leaders today have to be more rounded than they used to be, they have to be completely multi-functional and fast-moving.

I would hope congressional leaders put this at the front of their agenda,

German political leaders and business leaders should encourage more German private equity firms to get started -- don't wait for the Americans to show up but support and encourage Germans to start their own funds and to do the same kind of things that the Americans are doing.
