We don't go into journalism to be popular. It is our job to seek the truth and put constant pressure on our leaders until we get answers.

I don't think a tough question is disrespectful.

United Press International is a great news agency. It has made a remarkable mark in the annals of American journalism and has left a superb legacy for future journalists. I wish the new owners all the best, great stories and happy landings.

It's not my job to be popular. I'm goal-driven; my job is to get results.

There aren't any embarrassing questions - only embarrassing answers.

You will be flogged for being right and flogged for being wrong, and it hurts both ways--but it doesn't hurt as much when you're right.
