We regret any actions our predecessors may have taken that supported or tolerated the institution of slavery in America.

I am very sorry and I deeply regret my actions on Sunday. In the heat of a tense game, I lost my head and made a bad decision. I'm not making excuses for my actions and I take full responsibility for what I did. I want to take this opportunity to apologize to Loren Stokes, who I have great respect for. I also want to say I'm sorry to Hofstra University's players, coaches and fans. They played a terrific game and that should not be overshadowed by what I did.

I sincerely regret my actions in the game (Wednesday).

What face will they show, when they go there? They will regret and repent for their sins their actions will bring them only pain and suffering.

I have twice unsuccessfully sought help from Paul Castellano to put down union activities, these actions I regret deeply.

We know that we cannot change the past, and we can't make up for the wrongs of slavery. But we can learn from our past, and begin a stronger dialogue about slavery and the experience of African-Americans in our country.
