We scouted Newport, and they have played very well. No one has zoned them, so we had to change it up on them.

The kids have to realize you have those ups and downs. It's no different than life. The kids just had to believe they could regroup and they did.

It's exciting because the kids executed the game plan precisely. We wanted to mix it up so they would be confused.

They change ends well, they do shoot it well, and they put it on the floor and drive. There's a reason they're 11-1. I don't think we're as bad as we showed, but I do think they're very good. I think Coach (Martin) is doing a nice job with them.

We didn't change anything. We started passing really well. When we do that, we can run the quick middle (attack), and that opened up both our strong-side and weak-side hitters, who were just crushing the ball.

Another change is on the hat and batting helmet -- they are all blue. We eliminated the black out of the batting helmet. There still is a black jersey.
