We want people to understand that we have to look at maintenance costs and staffing in decisions on design elements for the pool.

Some people have suggested looking at additional ways to fund pool elements. At this point in time, these are not in place. I have to manage the $1.5-million as best I can. Right now my main priority is to figure out funding at hand and focus on the outside pool.

We don't expect the students to come up with the final design. This is more for stimulating discussion and raising awareness about what we want to see in the roundabout and how we're going to get it there.

The design is something that really has some potential.

I've modified this design for over two-and-a-half years ... people think I'm going away, I'm not If people want to engage me, I'll engage them.

A quilt is like a sandwich. The top layer is the design layer. When people look at a quilt, they're responding to that design and color.
