Whenever I write a story, I hope it appeals to both boys and girls.

I don't write about adolescence. I write about war. For adolescents.

Boys and girls are not the same.

What I write is not for little girls.

There's room for boys' and girls' football in the world-that's what I believe.

Everything is about them, not the dying boys and girls in the arena.
