While bank and thrift deal activity remains depressed, the pace picked up considerably at the end of the quarter. Whether this is the beginning of a resurgence remains to be seen.

Citigroup's acquisition of Golden State was an outlier in what was otherwise another slow quarter for bank and thrift mergers. Deal activity, as measured in number of deals, was up modestly from an abysmal first quarter. We expect this trend will continue.

We had stages where we picked up the pace of our play. But we've got too many things going against us, and our margin of error is too thin to have to play the game that way. We need to be on point with everything we do, on every single possession, especially in this league.

We picked up pace and our shots were there (in the second half). The second half was our best team effort this season.

Overall, we had a really good quarter. Southern Nevada remains strong.

I've always envied individual songwriters because they can set their own pace without having to deal with anyone else.
