Y2k is going to be a very large problem, ... Hewlett-Packard is at the end of the train announcing this.

It's a disaster. They told us three months ago that Y2K isn't going to have any effect on them at all. They miss this quarter, now they're saying the next quarter is going to be even worse and that the first quarter will have even more losses.

Y2K could lead to real problems,

The cat's out of the bag here with IBM. It's going to affect more than IBM, because Y2K is a concern and it's going to affect many different sectors of the market. And analysts have already switched from just looking at earnings to quality of earnings.

We believe we are Y2K compliant; this is just a precaution.

More of a problem with Y2K relates to medium- and small-sized companies that don't have the savvy or the money to fix the problem.
