All of our volunteers have to do a special project in order to become active members of the Junior League. It was the provisional class of 2003 that came up with the food festival concept.

There isn't a lot of cost to this project. It just takes some volunteers.

Remember the candy stripers? Well, we don't call them that anymore. They're junior volunteers.

I played Little League in junior high and high school.

We're now assigning numbers in the 75,000s. We have about 12,000 active members, and get between 1200 and 1500 new applications each year.

We have a much larger committee now with about 25 active, enthusiastic volunteers. The executive committee is responsible for organizing various activities and each has a core of volunteers to help them.
