I don't have any personal plans except to try and help the process and anything the city is going to do to make things better,

I couldn't help but feel, I won't say rejected - but I so seldom got a nibble of any kind - that I just felt ignored and completely invisible. I've done a lot of things in my life and faced many different kinds of challenges, usually successfully, but here I was completely unable to get a foot in the door.

They're really grateful for the help and appreciative of what you do for them.

At first we were horrified like everyone, like, 'Oh my gosh', and what could we do to help.

They could bypass all the federal stuff and get in touch with a city and say, 'What can we help you with?' ... It's just a common sense approach. The simpler it is, the more effective it is.
