I look forward to working with the community in a heightened effort. I respect all the members of the police department. I know I'll work well with them and the other members of the city who I've been working with for 25 years.

It takes more than just police. It takes lots of community resources. Hopefully the shootings will be a wake-up call.

Like it or not, a Jewish cemetery is an extension of the Jewish community. The police can have one view; we can have another. This doesn't affect our feelings. We'll always work with the police.

Every community has had to identify emergency dispensing sites in the event of a mass vaccination effort.

We would like to engage the community in this effort. We want to make this a community project, not just a historical project.

With all them being involved, it makes more of a community effort out of the whole event, which is what keeps the whole homecoming idea alive. And the result of that is something that's lasted longer than any of us, and hopefully it'll continue doing that.
