I told my girls if they played smart and Crandall tried to stall, they'd be playing right into our hands. Everything we did wrong during the first three quarters, we did right in the fourth. They killed us on the boards, but we got most of them back in the final quarter.

I have a figure, and there aren't many girls out there right now who have that.

That was the week of spring break, and we hadn't practiced in a week. The girls are more focused right now than they were that day.

We don't see any of these girls gripe when the (referee's) call doesn't go their way. This team right here? These are talented kids. And this is what happens when you have talented kids with character.

We were a little tentative. Typically, right off the bat, having so many girls look at called third strikes is something that we don't normally do. After we talked to them about that, we didn't have any more. We have to be more aggressive. We have been hitting the ball, so we were disappointed that we didn't come out hitting.

It's frustrating. There's nothing good I can really say to the girls right now to make them feel better. We gave it our best shot, but the ball wouldn't go down for us in the first half, and that proved to be too big of a hole to climb out of.
