The issue I will highlight is the chemicals in cigarette smoking that can lead to the changes in the genes that cause cancer. This will be a good opportunity for people to learn more about the various aspects of cancer.

We must live for the few who know and appreciate us, who judge and absolve us, and for whom we have the same affection and indulgence. The rest I look upon as a mere crowd, lively or sad, loyal or corrupt, from whom there is nothing to be expected but fleeting emotions, either pleasant or unpleasant, which leave no trace behind them.

I would call this the smoking gun. All of us have been concerned and have guessed that the data we have so far has been the tip of the iceberg.

Smoking affects all aspects of health, really, ... People know it harms them, but the harm is not immediate. The nicotine is addictive, but it is all the other chemicals - the umpteen carcinogens which can affect your heart and which can cause cancer, and which can affect pregnancy and your potency and libido - which come into play later on, with prolonged use.

Active cigarette smoking is established by us -- and, really, almost everyone -- as being the single largest risk factor for hardening of the arteries.
