People wonder, hey, what's going on with our climate. But we've seen these kind of heat waves in southwest Europe before.

If we knew, we would have been able to do a better job of forecasting. We thought in December the cold would take a break. But we didn't think it would take so long or flip this dramatically.

Is the world coming to an end? No -- at least not today or tomorrow.

We still predict that the eastern U.S. will be colder than normal this winter, it's just a matter of time. I recommend everyone take advantage of the next couple of weeks and do everything they need to outside because the cold will come.

Farther west temperatures will be even higher. In St. Louis temperatures are expected to rise to 80 degrees tomorrow. They have a shot at the record, which is 81 degrees.

There's been a pattern change and we are looking at temperatures in New York which will average 6 to 10 degrees below normal. Things will bottom out on Wednesday when temperatures should fall to 18 degrees when the normal low is 34.
